Their practice focuses on providing short-term, trauma-informed interventions in the Emergency Department. Lindsey is particularly interested in child protection as well as gender and sexuality. Angelina finds particular interest in providing trauma-informed care and psychological first aid during medical traumas in acute care settings. They are responsible for the education and training of new emergency department social workers as well as the continued education to emergency medicine residents, fellows, and physicians on the role of Social Workers. The framework of their work focuses on the social determinants of health and how this impacts patient’s overall health and wellbeing in an Emergency Department setting. Maintaining humor and humility has been what has kept them grounded both throughout the pandemic and in the day-to-day practice.
