Rojan Afrouz is a lecturer in social work at Deakin University. She completed her BSW and MSW in Tehran, where she worked as a social worker for several years prior to moving to Australia. She worked with disadvantaged individuals and communities and actively promoted social work policy and strategies to support women and children in Tehran. She completed her PhD in 2019 from Deakin University, which focused on Afghan women’s perceptions and understanding of domestic violence and their barriers to seeking help in Australia. Apart from her ongoing interest in researching domestic violence, Rojan is working on new approaches to social work practice, research, and education
